How to reach Jaisalmer from Delhi?

Jaisalmer is almost 800 kilometers away from Delhi. Jaisalmer does not have any airport , but is connected to Delhi via roads and rail network via Jodhpur .[adrotate group=”1″]

  • By Air

This holiday destination doesn’t have an airport , the nearest one is in Jodhpur which has at-least one daily flight from Delhi. However Jodhpur is around 250 kilometers away from Jaisalmer and it takes around another 4 hours to reach you vacation spot.So I don’t suggest this route.

  • By Bus

Only Rajasthan State buses ply directly between Jaisalmer and Delhi and the bus takes 14- 20 hours to complete its journey depending on the road traffic . However I don’t suggest to take these ancient buses.

  • By Cab/Private Vehicle

Private cars or taxis take around 12 -14 hours to reach Jaisalmer , taxis charge rupees 8000 to rupees 15000 depending on the type of vehicle .Your car or taxi can also be used to travel around as most of the tourist spots are in far-flung areas.

  • By Train

Two trans are available between Delhi and Jaisalmer :- Delhi Jaisalmer Express and Jaisalmer Howrah Exp , taking 13 and 18 hours respectively to reach the destination from Delhi.

Best Way to reach Jaisalmer from Delhi:-

Either travel by private vehicle/taxi or the rail route . Other options are not feasible in the heat of desert and  also economically.
